A long standing request and a contest winner.

Customs continue to flow off of Nucksfan’s table, including 2 that are coming to Hockeycustoms.com in the next few weeks. Milan Lucic of the 2007 Memorial Cup Champs Vancouver Giants and Vancouver Canucks all-star goalie, Roberto Luongo. Lucic is represented in the jersey of his junior squad, the Vancouver Giants of the WHL and more specifically, from the night he won his first and only Memorial Cup and was named Tournament MVP. Although Roberto Luongo has been released as a McFarlane Sportspick and most recently in the new RBK edge Canucks jersey, he has yet to be depicted with his new all white equipment and his now famous Captain’s C mask. Nucksfan sought to change that:

“The Lucic figure was a special request coming from the owner and operator of the Vancouver Giants fan site, www.giantsbeat.com. He approached me about completing a custom as a prize to a contest he was running on his own site. After the proper approval was granted from the Giants, I finished this Milan Lucic custom for his contest winner, and what makes it so special is that Lucic is a local kid and is a bit of a folk hero to Giants fans.

The Luongo was a little something for me. When Luongo was named Captain of my Canucks I decided it was time to make fulfill a request that was in the works for 2 years. My dad had asked for a Luongo custom the moment he signed with the Canucks and to be honest, I was simply too busy with other things to start it. When Lou was named Captain and started wearing the white equipment and the Captain’s C on his mask, I had to make this fig. I am very pleased with how it came out and it now resides with my parents, where it should have been 2 years ago.” back to homepage >>
